Nora and Pieter Kalkman are based in Prague, Czech Republic, where they serve through IM as liaison and volunteer coordinators with the European Baptist Federation (EBF). They match the skills and interests of short-term mission volunteers from the United States and Puerto Rico with the needs of more than 50 Baptist unions that are part of the EBF. There are only 2.4% Bible-believing Christians in Europe where they serve.
The Kalkman’s meet with partners throughout Europe, the Middle East and West Asia to identify needs and to coordinate opportunities for churches and individuals to engage in missions in the region.
Missions Responding to Human Trafficking (IM)
Lauran Bethell is a global consultant on human trafficking. Her main goal is to initiate and encourage new grass- roots projects addressing the exploitation and abuse of women and children, many of whom are victims of trafficking. Missons to Haiti
Kihomi & Mabudiga Nzunga – Missionaries to Haiti. Mabudiga Nzunga teaches theology at the Christian University of Northern Haiti, trains other professors in teaching and writing books, administers a scholarship program and preaches in churches. He is also the Cap Haitian eye clinic administrator. Kihomi works with families in the areas of counseling, family planning and women’s health issues. She also coordinates and advises the Women’s Association of the Haitian Baptist Convention. To learn more click here.

The Reverend Deliris Carrion-Joseph uses her pastoral and occupational therapy skills to work at Deborah’s House, a ministry that works with women and children who are victims of domestic violence in Tijuana, Mexico. Deliris believes that it is through Jesus, who heals the broken hearts and restores the afflicted souls, that women and children find refuge, healing and freedom. That by strengthening their faith, improving their self-esteem. providing education and helping them to find vocational paths, they will be able to leave Deborah’s House with hope for a better future. Thailand & Laos (IM)
In Laos, Lori and Matt work with street children, slum children, and girls who have been sold or are at high risk of being sold to human traffickers. In order to help protect and restore these children, the Mann’s are involved in five main interventions: a day time drop-in center for street and slum children; residential care for boys who were brought off the street and for girls who were victims of human trafficking or are at high risk of being victims; a scholarship program for children who would otherwise be sent to the city to beg; and raising community awareness about issues such as child abuse, child exploitation, and human trafficking. Becky Mann works with women in the hill country of northern Thailand. She is helping with the making and marketing of tribal crafts. She is also committed to working with parents of special needs children. Mike Mann is a global consultant for rural development for International Ministries. He is available to any of IM. international partners who are interested in developing water and/or agricultural projects. Mike is the director of the Integrated Tribal Development Program (ITDP) of the northern hill tribes. Both he and Becky are committed to helping the hill tribal farmers in the growing and distribution of Thai coffee. Mike believes that if ITDP can ensure a market for Thai coffee, we can lift a family out of poverty in five to six years. Starbucks has become a partner in the project. Tanzania School Support – Gayle Lyn Kliever
The goal of the Gayle Lyn Kliever Student Fund is to raise and distribute scholarships directly to worthy Tanzanian students. Scholarship help will be given to those students with ability, motivation and potential. Recipients may be of any age. Priority is given to those with little or no family presence. Mercy in Action is a faith-based non-profit organization founded by the Penwell family over a quarter century ago dedicated to mercy ministry among the poor around the world. Mercy In Action exists to bring hope and healing to the poorest of the poor, wherever they are found, by serving with practical acts of compassion, as did the Samaritan in the story told by Jesus of what it means to “Love God and love your neighbor”. Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse) World-wide evangelism to children in over 150 countries, who receive a gift box containing personal items, a toy, and Gospel literature in their own language. This ministry is facilitated by locally trained volunteers. Our church annually supports this project by preparing an sending over 1000 gift boxes.
