Missionaries Focus

At Palm West Community Church, we are part of the International Ministries [IM] family.  We support a number of IM missionaries and missions partners around the world through our budget and our prayers.  International Ministries recently installed Rev. Sharon Koh as its new Executive Director/CEO.  In that role, she will be providing leadership for the organization and oversight of its global network.

Rev. Koh will be visiting Phoenix and speaking at our sister church, Bellevue Heights, on Sunday morning, April 23.  We had invited her to speak at PWCC as well but her tight travel schedule made that impossible for now.  Instead, our Missions Team and the Bellevue Heights’ missions committee will meet with her following that service with the goal of learning more about her vision for IM and global missions.

Rev. Koh earned a BS in Religious Studies and Biology from Westmont College (2000), a Master of Divinity degree (with emphasis on youth, family, and culture) from Fuller Theological Seminary (2004), in addition to a Master of Arts degree in Theology—also from Fuller (2012).  She is currently completing a Doctor of Ministries degree as part of the preparation for her new leadership role at IM.

A Los Angeles native and an American Baptist pastor, Rev. Koh served as Senior Associate Pastor of Community Life and Mission for Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles.  She was born in Singapore but has also lived in Philadelphia, Columbus, Los Angeles and Seoul.

She was selected as a U.S. delegate to the Lausanne III Congress for World Evangelism in Cape Town in 2010. She has a passionate heart for God’s mission.

We also invite you to learn more about the missionaries and ministries we support here at PWCC by going to the church’s web site.  Click on the tab called “Missions,” and you will then find links to the IM ministries we support as well as to the other people and organizations in our budget.
