Memorials & Funerals
A Christian Understanding of Funerals and Memorial Services
A funeral or memorial service is a service that celebrates the life of our loved one and proclaims the Christian belief in eternal life. We honestly face the reality of death and grief, while witnessing to the Christian hope of resurrection and life after death. We seek to remember and celebrate your loved one, as God is praised and thanked for the gift their life represents.
It is our hope that when your time of grief and loss comes, the funeral or memorial service will be a part of the healing process. Grief affects everyone differently and your faith journey through it will be done in your own way. God wants to lead you back to wholeness and our church will keep you in prayer as you move through this difficult time.
When The Time Comes…
Please call the church office (623-546-2980) so that we might offer you comfort and help through our pastors and through the prayers of our congregation.
Finding Peace After Loss
We have a special group established to encourage individuals experiencing grief.
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. We hold weekly meetings over a thirteen-week period to help you work through the grieving process.
GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a loved one. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, this is a place where you can find people who understand the deep hurt you feel.
GriefShare is a Christ-centered small group. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar featuring top experts o
n grief recovery, plus real-life case studies and reenactments. After each video presentation, we spend time as a group discussing what was presented and how it applies to what is going on in our lives.
GriefShare is open to the community, so let your neighbors know about this important ministry.
- The next session began September 18, 2018. If you are interested in coming to the 13-week session call or email the church office. You are welcome to start at any week in the schedule.
